Stop press, hold the front page, drop what you're and add you own dramatic statement here! Ok maybe that’s a bit of an overly bold start to a post with but there have been a few interesting developments with regards to nitrous oxide in the past months. Indeed I’m not sure nitrous actually ever went away, but it has certainly taken a bit of a battering recently and fallen out of favour with a lot of anaesthetists. We had a recent look at the BJA’s summary of nitrous back in January, including a look at the ENIGMA trial which had raised a few questions about its safety, and this post looks at two of the niggles that I still had about it.
